Work I seldom talk about my work. Now it is time to do so as I am now involved in the life science programme of the tuition centre. I started with groawing bacteria. Last thursday, I went to the other block of the Bishan branch of the centre which is underground so sadly, there was no reception there. Can't message anybody . That branch is a lot livelier as there are a lot more people there. The block I usually work at usually only have 3 person.. Oh ya.. I was supposed to grow some soil bacteria that can withstand 100 degree Celcius. So I sneakily went to one of the potted plants near the place and scooped some soil. Felt like a thief. It turned out that the agar was finished. Guess how I grew the bacteria? I used agar agar powder. Yes. The agar agar we eat. My boss said it works but takes longer time, around a week. Hope it really works. I am going to do gram-staining on the bacteria tomorrow. Hope there is bacteria and my gram-stain is successful. The other part of the programme is about GM stuff. I am now doing a lot of research on GM food. Argh headache ar! There is a lot of information online. I have to sift through it, process it and simplify so that lower secondary students can understand... so tiring... After seeing my first powerpoint presentation, my boss said I had great stuff there. But there are a lot of other amendments and have to add more information into it. Argh! Much as I find the researching part taxing, this programme is a lot more interesting then the rest of work I have done so far!
